News from geothermal energy

In October, UGS GmbH was represented at the Geothermal Congress 2024 in Potsdam. As part of an excursion, our employees Mr. Brecht and Dr. Feldrappe gave around 60 interested visitors exciting insights into the geological and drilling details of the project at the EWP GmbH geothermal plant in Heinrich-Mann-Allee. UGS GmbH supported the congress as a sponsor and was represented with an information stand. There was a lively exchange on technical issues and projects. Our experts Ms. Hansen-Stichel and Mr. Brecht gave a presentation on the topic of "Borehole integrity as the key to realizing successful and safe geothermal projects". As part of a municipal utility workshop, we also presented the further development of medium-depth geothermal energy in the state capital of Potsdam together with EWP GmbH. We received a lot of praise at the congress for our excellent technical work and expertise.

UGS GmbH was once again represented at Europe's largest trade fair for geothermal energy this year. A total of 6,509 visitors and around 240 exhibitors took part. Various projects and developments were presented in 56 specialist presentations on the subject of geothermal energy. During the two days of the trade fair, we held numerous discussions with interested existing and potential new customers at our stand. We are already looking forward to GeoTHERM 2025 (20/21.02.2025), which will once again be held in Offenburg.
