Opportunities for students

Do you need to gain practical experience as part of your studies, or are you approaching graduation?

We offer students the opportunity to pave the way for their post-graduation career by providing internships and topics for final projects or theses.

Looking for a scholarship? While we don’t provide direct funding, we are happy to be your sponsor through the Deutschlandstipendium program.
Enrolled students at colleges or universities in the fields of deep drilling technology, mining/fluid mining, geophysics, geosciences, or other related disciplines can apply for a required internship by indicating their preferred timeframe. A dedicated mentor from the respective department will not only guide you through interesting and challenging tasks but will also be available to address any questions or concerns. After all, we want you to gain a clear picture of everyday work life at UGS.

Topics for final theses are determined in consultation with the departments based on current needs. Completing the thesis should take three or six months. Ideally, candidates will have completed an internship with us beforehand.

The Deutschlandstipendium supports students and incoming freshmen whose backgrounds and achievements indicate outstanding performance in their studies and future careers. Recipients receive €300 per month—half funded by the federal government and half by private sponsors. This income-independent scholarship is awarded in addition to BAföG benefits for a minimum of two semesters and up to the end of the standard study period.

UGS participates as a sponsor. If you are studying at one of the participating universities and apply for a Deutschlandstipendium, it’s possible that we might support you through this program in the future.
