Due to rock mechanical processes, varying operating conditions, or process sequences, critical axial loads can occur in casings of the well installations. Since 1995, UGS has had experience with strain measurement systems for continuous data acquisition and evaluation of axial load changes in subsurface storage well installations. Measurements at the sites are carried out by using strain gauge applications.

UGS has its own facilities for testing the new developments.
