Oil storage facilities
Oil is one of the most important sources of energy in many countries – and particularly in Germany. Many areas of industry depend on oil and oil-based products.
The subterranean storage of oil (oil distillates) is limited to caverns and rock storage facilities. These are filled with oil. The oil is then injected and withdrawn by means of a brine (NaCl solution) exchange medium.
